Ethics statement

   In order to promote the construction of scientific research integrity and academic ethics, protect the rights and interests of the authors, readers, editors and research sponsors related to the papers and further standardize the behavior of all participants in the publication of academic papers, this statement is formulated with reference to the mature publication ethics norms at home and abroad and in combination with the actual situation of “Petroleum Geology & Oilfield Development in Daqing”, providing evidence for the authors, reviewers, editors, editorial board, readers, publisher and research sponsors.

I. For authors

 1. Authorship

  The authorship of the papers shall truthfully reflect the work and contribution of the authors.

  (1)The authors shall provide substantial contributions to the conception design, experimental research, data collection, result analysis, etc. of the papers.

  (2) The authors shall write the papers or make major revision to important academic content.

  (3) The authors shall perform the final check of the papers.

  (4)All authors shall meet one of the above requirements and agree to take responsibility for all aspects of their research, including academic and ethic integrity.

 2. Declaration of interest

  In order to evaluate the papers justly and fairly and secure the interests of all the relevant parties to avoid conflicts of interest.

  (1)The authors shall make effort to avoid potential competition for benefits arising from the publication of the research findings, taking the initiative to declare conflicts of interest when it may be difficult to avoid.

  (2)The authors shall indicate the sources of relevant projects, sponsors, and organizations of the authors.

  (3)The authorship s’ organizations shall be the organizations which the authors belong to and provide the research conditions for the authors, and in which the authors finish their research. If the authors’ organizations are not related to the research content of the papers, the authors shall explain their contribution in the papers, or the authors’ organizations shall issue certificates to prove that the authors have indeed engaged in the research.

  The above requirements shall be explained in detail when submitting the papers.

 3. Changes to authorship

  Any addition, deletion or rearrangement of author names and corresponding author names in the authorship lists shall be by written application to the editorial department before the publication of papers, with the written confirmation from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal or rearrangement.

II. Declaration of academic misconduct

  This journal adheres to strict academic ethics standards and firmly prohibit all academic misconduct. Any academic misconduct throughout the publication of papers shall be checked with assisting relevant authorities. Punitive measures including withdrawing the papers, informing the authors’ organizations and warning the authors will be taken for the misconduct with sufficient evidence.

  Academic misconduct includes but not limited to the following:

 1. False data

  Once a manuscript is found with fabricating, falsifying or tampering with the original data, it is directly rejected, and will be no longer accept the subsequent contributions from the corresponding author of the manuscript or his research team.

 2. Plagiarism

  Any papers with plagiarism of the authors directly publishing others’ or previous ideas, opinions, data, images, research methods and literal expressions without citation or acknowledgment will be rejected by the editorial department with warning to the authors.

 3. Duplicate submission

  Three forms including multiple submissions of one paper, salami slicing(with duplicate check rate >15%) and duplicate publication will be rejected by the editors-in-charge after verification with the corresponding authors.

 4. False information

  The editors-in-charge have the right to query the false information of fund projects and false contact information of corresponding authors. The editors-in-charge shall verify, communicate and revise with the authors.

 5. Inappropriate authorship

  The editors-in-charge have the right to query the authorship of the people not involved in the researches, the authorship of others without their permission and non-authorship of the people involved in the researches. The editors-in-charge shall verify, communicate and revise with the authors.

III. Peer review

 1. Peer review process

  (1)All the papers shall be submitted via the online submission system. Double anonymized peer review is performed on all the papers from the aspects of the novelty of theme selection, scientificity of methodology, originality of content and effectiveness of research results. The peer review process is “three-review” finalization system. Only the papers reviewed in three rounds of editors’ preliminary review, peer review and editor-in-chief’s final review can be published. The papers shall be submitted strictly in accordance with the academic norms and format requirements of the journal. The manuscript and submission guidelines are given on the website of the journal.

  (2)The average processing cycle of manuscripts is 1-3 months. The authors can log in the editing system of the website to check the review progress and results of the papers.

  (3)No review fee will be charged for the submission of papers. Only the accepted papers will be charged according to national regulations (600 CNY of article publishing charge for this journal). Once the papers are published, the editorial department will pay the authors remuneration and present them sample copies.

  Other declarations of the review process:

  (1)Once the papers are submitted, the editorial system will automatically send receipts notices to the authors via email.

  (2)The comments on the revision will be sent to the authors via email. The authors shall submit the revised version on the editorial system. Revision explanations are recommended to be attached.

  (3)The reviewers will require re-review for some papers, and the editorial department will arrange peer review again according to the revision of the authors.

 2. For reviewers

  (1)Before agreeing to review the papers, the reviewers shall ensure that they have professional knowledge required for review and can provide rapid, reasonable and fair comments. If they think they are not suitable for review or cannot timely provide the review comments, they shall notify the editors and refuse to participate in the review process.

  (2)In case of competition, cooperation or other related interest conflicts with authors and organizations, the reviewers shall initiatively avoid reviewing the papers.

  (3)The reviewers shall review the papers on time and give specific review comments. If a reviewer cannot carried out on schedule for some reason, he shall notify the editorial department instantly.

  (4)Without the permission of the editorial department, the reviewers shall not entrust others to review the papers.

  (5)Any paper received for review shall be considered confidential. Without permission, the reviewers shall not share the data, cases or other information of the papers with anyone.

  (6)The reviewers shall provide scientific, objective, professional and accurate comments on the papers, and there shall be no rude, derogatory or personal abuse comments.

  (7)If the reviewers suspect any academic misconduct, they shall communicate with the editorial department in time.

 3. For editors

  (1)The editors shall abide by the rules and regulations on periodicals management, abide by academic publishing ethics and norms, and strictly fulfill the review procedure of papers.

  (2)The editors shall register, submit, edit and publish the manuscripts on time to ensure that each paper is treated fairly.

  (3)The editors shall respect the authors’ research, keep the contents of the papers confidential, and do not use the authors’ research in violation of regulations.

  (4)The editors shall respect the comments of reviewers. If the authors have any objection, they are allowed to make complaints.

  (5)The editors shall keep the personal information of authors and reviewers confidential.

  (6)All the papers shall be checked for academic misconduct. The editors have the right to require the authors to provide written materials of academic integrity, and can carry out relevant procedures such as attention, correction or withdrawal of papers.

  (7)In case of competition, cooperation or other related interest conflicts with the authors and organizations, the editors shall initiatively avoid dealing with the papers, and shall not use the editing and review rights to seek illegitimate interests.

  (8)The editors shall strictly abide by the editing and publishing norms to edit and process the papers, shall not add, delete or change the papers without authorization, and shall not change the academic connotation of the graphs and texts content. The content of the papers shall be confirmed by the authors before publication.

IV. Complaints

  Once the authors have obtained sufficient information or evidence(such as providing other factual information, correction information, additional materials, or filing a complaint against conflicts of interest and unfair peer review), they are allowed to make complaints. The authors are encouraged to submit reasonable appeals with sufficient evidence. After the authors’ appeals, the decisions made by the editorial department will be the final decision. Repeated or unsubstantiated appeals will be rejected.

V. Correction notice

  In case of any errors found in previously published papers, especially those that could affect the interpretation of certain data or content(excluding major errors in main views or conclusion), no matter what reasons causing the errors(by authors or editors), correction notices shall be promptly published in the following way:

  (1)Once such errors are found, correction notices will be promptly published in the texts of the latest issues of the journal and listed in the contents of the latest issues.

  (2)Correction notices will clearly cite the original texts, and give the reasons for the errors and the corrected editions.

  (3)The papers will be updated to correct editions on the website and database platform of the journal.

  (4)“Correction notice” will be used as the title to be clearly distinguished from the withdrawal notice due to academic misconduct.

The authors and the readers are also welcome to timely contact the editorial department for the errors found in the papers or rational concern of legitimacy of the papers.

VI. Withdrawal notice

  In case of any papers published involving legal restrictions such as legal infringements and libel or proved academic misconduct, withdrawal notices will be promptly published in the following way:

  (1)Once academic misconduct or legal restrictions are found in the papers, withdrawal notice of the papers will be promptly published in texts of the latest issues of the journal and listed in the contents of the latest issues.

  (2)Withdrawal notices will clearly cite the original texts and give the withdrawal reasons. Detailed evidence will be published in the online editions of the journal.

  (3)The papers will be promptly withdrawn from the website and database platform of the journal.

  (4)“Withdrawal notice” will be used as the title.

VII. Copyright and license

  The authors agree to assign the copyright of their papers to the editorial department of “Petroleum Geology & Oilfield Development in Daqing” since the date of signing the “Confidentiality certificate and copyright assignment agreement”, including digital publishing through the journal’s digital platform and in cooperation with relevant digital publishing institutions(such as CNKI, Wanfang Data, Superstar Data, etc.). The authorization period is the same as the copyright protection period of the papers, and the authorization area is worldwide. The copyright royalties and remuneration for print publication of the authors shall be paid at one time.

VIII. Advertisement

  The journal do not consider any type of advertisement temporarily.
